Dr. Christopher Dougherty receives his board certification from the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Dougherty is nationally and internationally known for his expertise.  The former past president of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, he remains active in the education and training of current and future sports medicine physicians.  He is one of the most experienced physicians nation and worldwide in meniscus repair and minimally invasive rotator cuff repairs as well as joint preservation surgery.

Dr Dougherty is also one the most experienced hip arthroscopy specialists in the country – having performed the procedure since 2001.  Dr. Dougherty has lectured extensively on injury prevention and sports medicine surgeries, as well as cost effectiveness, and is extensively published with a number of patented implants and procedures to help his patients and fellow surgeons. He has served and serves on numerous committees to provide for improved patient safety and patient access to orthopedic medicine and surgery. His professional associations include the AAOS, AOAO, AANA, AOA, AOS, AOASM, and the MLBTPA.
