Robert MacLeod, M.D. is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and hip, as well as cartilage restoration. He enjoys treating the entire spectrum of sports medicine injuries, which affords him the opportunity to work with athletes of all ages and all levels of competition.
Dr. MacLeod received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware. His interest in medicine is directly related to his love of a variety of sports. He began playing soccer at a young age and was a 4 year starter for the university’s NCAA division I soccer team. In medical school, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Rutgers University, he developed a particular interest in anatomy. Sports medicine allows him the opportunity to combine his interests in athletics with the ability to restore patients’ function, with the ultimate goal of returning them to their pre-injury condition.
In the summer of 2016, Dr. MacLeod completed an orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at The Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He’s had the privilege of working with a variety of sports teams functioning as an assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers, and Philadelphia Soul. On the college level, he has been a team physician for Villanova University and St. Joseph’s University. He looks forward to working closely with youth teams in the NW Arkansas area.
